At the center of it all, you will find Anthony and Angela King, a couple who has spent more than twenty years walking with believers through the real battles of life. Not from a distance, but shoulder to shoulder.

They have served in full-time vocational ministry and biblical counseling for decades, helping Christians find clarity, courage, and the kind of wisdom that is forged in Scripture and tested in real life. “With the ancient is wisdom, and in length of days understanding,” Job 12:12. That verse rings true in their story. They have seen God restore broken hearts, rebuild families, and revive men who thought they were too far gone.

Anthony brings the heart of a shepherd and the grit of a man who refuses to settle. He has spent his life calling men to stand up, lean in, and follow Christ with conviction.

Angela is the strength behind the scenes. She is the logistics mind, the administrative backbone, the one who sees every detail you would never notice until it went wrong. She makes sure The Vanguard Retreat is seamless, intentional, and unforgettable. The kind of experience you only get once in a lifetime, the kind that leaves you changed.

They live in Honolulu, where God has rooted their family with the people of Huikala Baptist Church. God has given them four children, one daughter-in-law and an American bully named Duchess who desparately needs attention.

And out of life experience, out of years of ministry and the miles they have walked with others pursuing God, The Vanguard was born. A place for men who want more. A place where you can grow, sharpen, and step into the kind of strength Christ calls you to.
