Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
The Vanguard is a private community for men. Anyone can create an account, but a new one waits on approval and can reach only the Introduce Yourself space until then. This policy explains what the app stores and who can see it. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not share anything with third parties for marketing.
What We Store
- Your account: name, email address, and the password you set, which is stored only as a cryptographic hash.
- Your profile: anything you choose to add — photo, bio, location, profession, birthday, and links you provide.
- What you post: posts, comments, reactions, direct messages, event RSVPs, and any photos, PDFs, videos or voice notes you attach.
- Sign-in records: session data including IP address and browser or device type, kept so you stay signed in and so we can spot abuse.
- Push tokens: if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send them. It identifies the device, not you personally.
Who Can See It
Approved members can see your profile and anything you post in a space they belong to. An account waiting on approval sees only the Introduce Yourself space: not the other spaces, not the member list, not direct messages. Once an administrator approves it, it sees what every other member sees. Direct messages are visible to the people in that conversation. Community administrators can see member details and moderate content. Nothing in The Vanguard is readable without an account.
Services We Rely On
- Render, which hosts the application and its database.
- Resend, which delivers email such as password resets and notifications.
- Expo, which delivers push notifications to your device.
- Sentry, which records technical error reports so faults can be fixed.
- Klipy, which powers GIF search. Your search terms are sent to Klipy.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. That erases your profile, photo, email address and sign-in credentials, and removes your push tokens and sessions. Posts and comments you wrote remain in the community so conversations keep their shape, but they are no longer attached to you.
Children
The Vanguard is intended for adults. Every new account waits on approval from an existing member before it reaches the community. It is not directed at children.
